Sixth&Blanco, named for the intersection at the heart of the district, combines restored bungalows and commercial buildings dating to the 1920s and a new mixed-use building designed by Herzog & de Meuron.

Informed by Herzog & de Meuron’s expression of contemporary southwestern motifs, each room indulges guests with custom furniture and fixtures, and a private terrace, all floating in the tree canopy of Austin’s most desirable neighborhood.

The existing and recently restored bungalows are home to businesses including Howard’s & Rosie’s, Clark’s Oyster Bar, Pecan Square Café, Elle’s Boutique, Lora Reynolds Gallery, Wally Workman Gallery, La Embajada and Align Pilates.

Larry McGuire was born and raised in Austin where his culinary career began at age 16 working in Austin restaurants. In 2004, at age 22, he began putting the team together for Lambert’s Downtown Barbecue. Today, with 23 restaurants, hotels, and retail shops under the MML Hospitality umbrella, Larry focuses on project development, finance and operations at MML while co-leading concept and interior design at Lambert McGuire Design. Larry is also the managing partner of Austin retail institution ByGeorge.
